Our fundamental choice is to live up to our highest potential and to be the predominant creative force in our own life. (Robert Fritz)
When I recently started learning to read music and play classic guitar it was strictly for myself. I could play a piece in the comfort of being alone. Playing the same piece in front of my instructor was extremely uncomfortable – my hands shook and I had no idea where my anxiety came from. It was very frustrating. Then I read this passage by Aaron Shearer:
“The act of sharing one’s music with others is the reason we play.”
His words completely changed my perspective. I am learning to live outside of my comfort zone.
